When I moved to Michigan I realized how privileged I was to live in the San Francisco Bay Area where Thai, Chinese, Koran, Vietnamese, and Japanese restaurants abounded. This recipe was born thanks to my love for noodles, a few ingredients on hand, and a little creativity. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have since.

šŸ„£ Cooking Time: 20mins

šŸ² Serves: 3-4

Ingredients

1lb of ground pork 2 minced garlic cloves Ā¼ cup of minced onion Ā½ teaspoon of salt Ā¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper 1 tablespoon of sesame oil 1 tablespoons of red miso 2 tablespoons of peanut butter 1 teaspoon of minced ginger 1 teaspoon of ground cayenne Ā¾ cup of water 3 cups of your favorite noodles (fully cooked)

Directions

1. In a small bowl, start by mixing the miso, peanut butter, minced ginger, water, and cayenne pepper. Use a fork to whisk all ingredients together until you have a smooth sauce and set aside.

1. In a pan on medium-high heat add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. While this gets hot enough, mix the pork with the minced garlic, onion, salt, and black pepper.

2. Once your pan is hot, cook the meat. When the meat starts acquiring a golden-brown color, add in your peanut sauce. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.

3. Cook your favorite noodles according to the packageā€™s directions. Serve noodles and top with pork in peanut sauce. Garnish as desired and enjoy!

Notes

As mentioned on the recipe, you can use any brand of noodles you want or have within reach. In this case I used the No Yolks brand since they were the ones at hand.

Other ingredients like miso paste and sesame oil can be found in most Asian supermarkets. Miso paste is usually in the refrigerated section.
